Content: This is a synthetic collection consisting of manuscripts and typescripts, notebooks, and correspondence. The manuscripts include holograph essays, short stories, and notes toward works, some of which were published, including his essay on Algernon Charles Swinburne, a study on Walter Pater, "Horae Solitariae," and "Cloud Castle and Other Papers." Also included is a holograph genealogical chart of the poet's family on his mother's side, typescripts for essays and short stories, criticism, and poems. The notebooks include holographs of his autobiography, notes towards his essays and short stories, field notes, and lecture notes, and an anthology of favorite poems. The manuscripts also include notes by Dylan Thomas, related to the author, used by Thomas for various radio broadcasts. The correspondence, dating from [1892] to [1917], includes letters from the author to John Freeman, Sir Edward Howard Marsh, and others. There are also letters relating to the author, dating from 1900 to 1939, from Gordon Bottomley to Helen Noble Thomas, from Eleanor Farjeon to John Cecil Moore, and from Helen Thomas to John Cecil Moore, and others. There are letters to Thomas from Emily Bottomley, Joseph Conrad, George H. Dyer, Robert Frost, Henry C. Notrutt, and George H. Perris, dating from 1894 to 1916.
