Description
Stephanie Clemens, director of the Academy of Movement and Music in Oak Park, Illinois, the birthplace of Doris Humphrey, discusses the efforts of the academy and its associated company, Momenta, to perpetuate Humphrey's work. She describes the activities of the Doris Humphrey Society, established in Oak Park with the encouragement of Humphrey's son, Charles Woodford. Clemens also talks about her own dance training, which included studies at the Juilliard School, and her research into human locomotion, which involved film analysis of the dancing of Rudolf Nureyev and others.
