Content: Legend: Dans la Fête de Bacchus, et dans le balet du Triomphe de Bacchus, de l'opéra de l'union de l'Amour et des Arts.
Content: From a series of more than 300 restrikes from the original 18th-century plates, first published by Esnaults et Rapilly, rue St. Jacques.
Content: Man full length to right, looking right, arms outstretched, index fingers touching thumbs, his left leg extended to side par terre. Wearing an elaborate plumed headdress and tonnelet decorated with ribbons, flowers, and animal claws.
Citation/reference: "Costume porté par Laval et Gardel dans Vertumne et Pommone à Versailles, le 9 février 1763" (from accompanying commentary). A later edition, with variant hand-coloring, of print *MGZFA-18 Mar J Fau 2.
