Description
Panel discussion with Jan Peerce dedicated to Hanukkah celebration, during which he discusses various topics, such as his career as an operatic tenor at the Metropolitan Opera, his experience working with various conductors such as Arturo Toscanini and others, his Jewishness and roots of Jewish culture. He also talks about his family, his wife, Alice, his book "The bluebird of happiness: the memoirs of Jan Peerce" by Alan Levy (New York, Harper & Row, c1976), and about his contribution to Jewish community. Two recordings of Peerce's performances, the song "The bluebird of happiness" at the beginning, and Yiddish song at the end, are played during the event.
