Description
Myers profiles British composer John Tavener, known for his extensive output of religious works, including "The protecting veil" for which he received a Gramophone Award, announced on the day of the broadcast. Wood and Johnson analyze the style of Tavener's works profoundly influenced by the Russian Orthodox Church theology and liturgical traditions that reflect his beliefs.
