Content: According to Pierre Apraxine, "album now disbound and boxed with cloth cover with gilt letters: E.I.V.G.V.K./VA (for Vladimir Alexandrovich). Views of the city of Sol'vychegodsk, and its remarkable sites. 21 albumen prints mounted on boards of different sizes. 9 prints (+/- 6 x 8") mounted on larger boards (9 1/4 x 12 3/4"); 12 prints (+/- 5 1/2 x 4") on smaller ones (9 1/4 x 8 1/2"), with printed decorative frames and captions. 'Photography by Baranov in Vologda' with address and mention of a 'silver medal for contributing to the success of archeology'. All photos numbered 1-19 and above the images by hand in ink in calligraphic script. The numbers refer to the subjects photographed, some recto and verso."
Content: City Solvychegodsk is located in Archangel oblast, 18 km from Kotlas. Blagoveshchensk (Annunciation) cathedral and Vvedensk (Presentation) monastery are in Solvychegodsk.
