Content: This follows closely the mine at #8 shaft, Coaldale, Pennsylvania. It shows correctly the folding of strata and the way the coal is mined. There are no such large holes in the earth, so in building a model, a few million tons of rock were removed in order to display the workings. The model is about 7½ feet long and 5 feet high.
