Notes
Ownership: Formerly in St. Stephen's chapel, Westminster. Given away in 1549 by the last Dean, John Chamber. Subsequently in collections of Strode, Finch, and Rev. John Disney. Given in 1884 by J.J. Astor.
Content: 1 (perhaps 2, second on f. 162)
Content: 36 lines (33 in calendar) in two columns, ruled in purple. Prickings and catchwords visible.
Content: De Ricci, 1324-5. Chart by Dr. G.B. Guest.
Content: Dr. Guest places the manuscript in London. De Ricci dates it to the early 15th century, Guest to the late 15th century.
Content: Elaborate border work and initials at openings of sections. Medium gold initials on red and blue fields. Small alternating gold and blue initials with opposing color penwork. Penwork flourishes in border, including leaves colored green. Rubrics.
Content: Initial on f. 9 shows performance of mass.
Content: Parchment
Content: The foliation here begins on the second vellum leaf. But the consistent 8-folio quire structure and the vellum's appearance suggest that it should begin on the first vellum leaf; therefore, all folio #s here are one higher than those written in volume.
