Notes
Ownership : Written in Rome for Pope Leo X and given by him to Cardinal Pietro Bembo (or vice versa). Collection of conte Leopoldo Cicognara; sale to Zonzi (1860); Sir William Tite sale (1874); A.H. Huth sale (1914). Acquired by Spencer collection ca. 1919.

Content : 1, plus vol. 1, ff. i verso-ii, 25v-39v; vol. 2, ff. i verso, f. 30r-v

Content : 20 long lines per page, ruled in drypoint. Some quire signatures still visible. Gatherings of ten except for first gathering of volume 1 (8 folios) and first gathering of volume 2 (9 folios).

Content : Antonio Maria da Villafora

Content : De Ricci, Alexander, library dossier and chart by Dr. G.B. Guest.

Content : Foliation of the two volumes is incorrect in that ff. i-viii of volume 1 should be folios 1-8, and ff. i-ix of volume 2 should be folios 1-9; but I have used the existing foliation for simplicity.

Content : Hierarchy of scripts in red, blue and gold "rubrics." 1-line through 5-line initials on elaborate fields in various colors. Border designs.

Content : Miniatures; border designs and initials with human figures.

Content : Parchment

Content : The Alexander and Mariani volumes date this to the early 16th century and to 1503-1509 respectively. Notes in library dossier date it to ca. 1520.

Content: Volume 1 contains Lectionarium, as well as antiphons and proyers on ff. 25v-39v in different humanistic hands and cursive notes ff. i (verso)-ii. Volume 2 has an antiphon and a prayer on i (verso) and an additional Gospel selection on 30r-v.
