Notes
Ownership: Coat of arms f. 13v: arms of the d'Astros (Toulouse) and St. Servais (Liege) families. Arms on doublures belong to Perkins family, perhaps book collector Henry Perkins (1778-1855)? Purchased for Spencer from Pecaro Inc., 1948.
Content: 21 long lines per page, ruled in red ink. Quaternions are the norm. Quire signatures visible.
Content: 5 historiated initials, accompanied by floreate borders with animal figures.
Content: De Ricci, Supplement, 332. Library dossier.
Content: Given the fragility of the manuscript, the description is based on information in the dossier. Photos may not be possible.
Content: Latest-canonized saint in calendar is Antoninus of Florence (1523). The calendar includes the Feast of the Separation of the Apostles, which was dropped in 1551. Thus ms. dated 1523 - 1551. Localization: Sept. 9 reads "Dedic ecclic detortoy laberti."
Content: Material ff. 201-39 show that this manuscript was meant for a Dominican nun, including the "Letania pro sorore moriente," ff. 206-10.
Content: Parchment
Content: Small and medium illuminated initials in blue and red; blue and red linefillers. Rubrics.
