Ownership : Southern Germany, possibly Birgittine monastery of Maria Maihingen near Nordlingen, Lower Bavaria. From colls. of Rev. Roderick Terry and Robert Walsinham Martin. Purchased for Spencer, 1966.

Content : 1- through 4-line red initials. Rubrics, red slashes as placemarkers. Floral borders. Large decorated initials in pink and blue on gold fields.

Content : 21 long lines per page, ruled in very faded ink, some catchwords and prickmarks visible. Most gatherings are of 10 folios each.

Content : 3 full-page miniatures and 5 historiated initials.

Content : Contents help with dating: St. Brigit was canonized in 1391; the texts inclue a prayer for the Council of Basel (1431-49).
