Content: 99 photographs, most taken in 1938 by Hans Evert, Claire Holt, and Rolf de Maré, of funerary rites, dance, people, scenery, and antiquities on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi (Celebes). Some were published in Holt's book Dance quest in Celebes (1939).
Content: The following dances, all of the Toraja people, are represented: Ma'randing, Ma'bugi, Ma'badong, Ma'marakka, Manganda, Ma'gellu, Manimbong, and Ma'kadoya-doya.
