Notes
Content: (Top photograph) Looking out of the famous Bismark Tunnell, which was driven thru the hill by the Germans. It is about seven ft. in height and wide enough for four men abreast. It contained a perfect ventilating and drainage system. At intervals there were large chambers built off from the sides. (Left photograph) One entrance on the German side. (Bottom photograph) The entrance on the French side. (Right photograph) Showing the desolation on top of the hill. There is no level ground to be seen. It has the appearance of a choppy sea.
