Content: "Fraunces' Tavern is one of the interesting buildings in New York, and was the scene of many stirring events during the Revolutionary period. It divides honors with St. Paul's Chapel, Washington's headquarters and the Roger Morris mansion in its connection with memories of Washington in New York. In the "Long Room" occurred the affecting scene with his officers, during which, for the last time, he took leave of his comrades-in-arms and retired to Mount Vernon."--printed on border.
