Paris" "Italia ; Italie ; Italien" Printed on mount: "1.Sword carrier. 2.Doge. 3.Doge as soldier, 15th century, from a painting by Spinello. 4.Civilian attendant of doge. 5-6.Officers, their costume denotes high position. 7-8.Nobility of doge's suite. Fur on hat and robe sign of the nobility. 9.Ducal costume, 1176. 10.Jewish merchant, end of 15th century, from a painting by Guarenti in Padua. 11.Pillow carrier for doge. 12.Doge of the 16th century, with boy carrying parasol. From the painting by Bellini. The parasol dates from 1176. 13-14.Trumpets and official banners used in escorting doge. 15.Doge of 9th century. Collar of ermine decorated with pearls."
