Content: Written on border: "Howard Halfway House, Atlantic & Alabama Avenue, East Brooklyn, destroyed 1902. Proprietor, coerced by Gen. Howe's forces, guided them to hill overlooking unguarded Jamaica Pass, making possible flanking maneuver that decided the Battle of Long Island in favor of the British, 1776."
