Description
Isabella's skirt symbolizes the marriage of this Scottish princess to the ruler of the French province of Brittany. The red lion on the gold background is the flag of Scotland, while the ermine "fur" textile pattern (seen also on the trim of her bodice, where it's probably real fur) is found on the flag of Brittany. The princess' clothes symbolize the union of the two nations.
