Content: Written on border: "Mar. 18, 1876" Printed on border: "Mr. Helmann Fürst, of Williamsburgh, N.Y., has recently patented an improved neck, ear, and throat protector, which, when applied to the head of a man or boy, will protect and cover the back of the neck, the ears, and the throat, and allow the free use of a hat or cap. It is easily folded into a small coil for convenience in transportation, and when not required for use. The engravings show the article while worn and also when not in use."
