"This house belongs to the Institution of Mercy, Houston street, and is governed by the same officers. It is situated on Eighty-first street, betweem Fourth and Madison avenues, and is intended for the protection and education of young girls and female children whose circumstances render them suitable subjects for such an institution, and in a special manner for the children of deceased or disabled soldiers …" "463."
