Content: Printed on verso: "... built in 1888 and originally located at Orient Point, about a mile from the tip-end of the island. Affectionately called the 'Down Neck Schoolhouse' it was abandoned as a school in 1930. The original cupola was destroyed by the hurricane of 1938. Acquired and moved to Orient Village in the 1949 by the Oyster Ponds Historical Society, and restored."
