Description
Subject: Map of the district of Maine showing the state divided into counties, and named and numbered towns. Cartouche at lower right shows two adolescent boys standing on logs in choppy waters as they load the wood onto a ship. A town with houses and a church building are seen in the distance. Relief shown by hachures. Prime meridian: London and Washington, D.C. "N.B. As the surveys of some towns were not so full as others, the roads & streams of those towns have been unavoidably discontinued."
