Description
Footage of an ACT UP demonstration against the U. S. Supreme Court's Webster decision and the ruling against abortion rights in Washington D.C. and interviews with activists. Also includes footage of ACT UP participating for the first time at the Fifth International Conference on AIDS in Montreal in June 1989. The segment begins with issues against United States AIDS/HIV immigration policies with an "action" shot at the Canadian border. Includes footage in front of the Montreal Conference; demonstrations; and the entrance by AIDS activists to take over the opening ceremonies of the Fifth International Conference on AIDS. Also contains "Lainey after school" home-footage segment.
