Description
Documentary on three formerly suppressed dance forms of the Kriolu people of the Cape Verde Islands, who are descended from Portuguese colonists and African slaves (the word "badiu" signifies a runaway slave). These dances, the tabanka, the batuko, and the funana, are seen in action, along with interviews with noted practitioners.
