Biographical/historical: Probably commissioned between 5 December 1801 and 16 September 1802, when Lady Mount Cashell and her family made an extended stay in Paris (cf. Edward C. McAleer's Sensitive Plant, p. 94-103).
Content: The Pforzheimer Collection holds six copies of the Mount Cashell portrait, which were among the Mount Cashell-Cini-Tighe Papers acquired in February of 1967. One copy has been removed to the Portrait File.
