The American Dance Festival, one of a kind (ca. 15 min., col. and b&w, sd.) / film sequences provided by UNC Center for Public Broadcasting, South Carolina ETV Network, and Steeg Productions ; script, Mike McClister ; editing, Jere Snyder ; interviewees, Marcia Esposito, Paul Taylor, Charles Weidman, Walter Terry (pre-recorded footage), Charles Reinhart, Martha Myers ; promotional videotape containing a brief history of the festival, followed by a summary of its activities (school, professional and community services, media projects, and performances), and testimonials from writers and choreographers. Illustrated by b&w archival footage and still photographs, and contemporary footage of performances, classes, and rehearsals -- [Archival footage] (ca. 20 min., b&w, si. and sd.) / includes segments titled "Techniques of Martha Graham demonstrated by Dorothy and Bonnie Bird" and "Selections from 'Panorama,' workshop group, Bennington School of Dance, 1935, directed by Martha Graham," as well as untitled class, performance, and candid footage. José Limón, Betty Jones, and Ruth Currier appear in a brief excerpt from Doris Humphrey's Invention at the end of the tape.
