Content: Picture caption: "Bei der Abwehr englischer Luftangriffe auf die deutschen Küsten erwies sich der Typ der deutschen Messerschmitt-Zerstörer Me 110 der englischen Luftwaffe durch Schnelligkeit, Wendigkeit und Feuerkraft außerordentlich überlegen."
Content: The Me-110 "Zerstörer" (Destroyer) was so outclassed by enemy fighters in the Battle of Britain that it was withdrawn from service. Switched to an interceptor role, as shown here, it proved very successful (especially equipped with radar at night) against enemy bombers.
