Description
Cox has gone to New York, ostensibly to present an address to the President from the Episcopal Convention, but it has been hinted that his real purpose is to solicit the office pf District Judge for his son-in-law, S. Stockton; this measure is advised by Mr. B -- [Elias Boudinot] at New York; Brearley is pleased with it as it will divide the party; trusts the letter from [Elias] Dayton to the President has been given to [William] Paterson.
