Documentary on the Sherpas of northeastern Nepal, focusing on their religious practice as Buddhists. Includes footage of dances performed as part of the Mani-rimdu festival, among them a masked dance representing the union of Tantric pairs of opposites; the dance of the eight terrible ones, or the defenders of Buddhism; and dances presented for comic relief.
