Description
1st interview (48 min.) with Al Tyler, a former employee of Bobby Clark, a famous actor/comedian, who was hired to play small parts in comedy sketches with Clark & McCullough produced by Music Box in 1923 when the team was on the road. Tyler comments on Clark's interest in serious books, his sensitivity, extreme politeness and cordiality, compassion and loyalty. Points of interest include Tyler's description of the boarding houses (their conditions, terms and prices) they used during the tour of 1923; the birth of actors' unionized organizations; Clark's and McCullough's personal and working relationship and their roles in the team work; and the innocent nature of burlesque in those days. The 2nd interview (6 min.) with Sid Stone, a vaudevillian and stage actor, is cut short. It contains a brief enumeration of facts from Clark's biography recited by Stone from an apparently prepared text.
