Venue: Videotaped in dress rehearsal at the Cirque Royal, Brussels, Belgium, on May 17, 1994.
Biographical/historical: Ocean was originally conceived by Merce Cunningham and John Cage, based on the writings of James Joyce. It was completed after Cage's death with music by Andrew Culver and David Tudor, based on Cage's ideas. It premiered at the Cirque Royal, Belgium, May 18, 1994.

Description
The dress rehearsal of Ocean begins at 15 min. into video. The first 15 min. of the video features footage of dancers rehearsing and warming up individually. The last 20 min. of the video features footage of musicians and crew discussing the rehearsal and Merce Cunningham giving comments to the dancers.
