Content: Caption title. Also in caption are other inscriptions in unknown hands regarding the history and authenticity of the work.
Date: First published: Wien, Artaria, 1781, as his op. 2, no. 2, and dedicated to Mlle. Josephe D'Aurnhzmer.
Content: Letter ([4] p.) from Richard Aldrich to C. Herter appraising this and another Mozart ms., laid in.
Acquisition: Acquired from the families of Lizzie Bliss and Christian A. Herter, in their memories, 1932.
Ownership: Formerly owned by Lizzie Bliss, Christian A. Herter, Dodd Mead & Co., Frederick Locker-Lampson.
Physical Description
Extent: Score ([10] p.) ; 26 x 37 cm
Holograph in ink, signed and dated. Cut, tipped, and bound in green leather by Francis Bedford with title stamped in gold. The bookplates of Herter, Locker, and NYPL appear on marbled endpapers.
In left margin is holograph catalog number "N.1," crossed through.
The dedication is partly torn.
