Abstract
A virtually complete set of William Hogarth's print work in three disbound albums bequeathed to the New York Public Library in 1895 by Samuel J. Tilden (1814-1886). Highlights of the collection include the series "A Rake's Progress," "Marriage A-la-Mode," and "Industry and Idleness," as well as the well-known images of "Beer Street and Gin Lane," "Time Smoking a Picture," and "The Analysis of Beauty."
