Collection consists mainly of candid views of parades and parade participants in Harlem, from the late 1940s to the 1970s.Depicted are individuals in costume; some marching bands and informally organized musicians; a church group; some marching scout and cadet troops; a two car procession; and a motorcycle group. Also depicted are some views with parade floats, a street performer dancing, an unidentified parade possibly from the 1910s, views of a vocal group making a promotional appearance, and a group portrait of the Virginia State Marching Band majorettes at Yankee Stadium. Of note are some views of participants in the West Indian Day Parade marching on Seventh Avenue in Harlem (1948).
