Abstract
The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Periodical Collection was initially composed of periodicals collected by the International Gay Information Center (IGIC) and donated to the New York Public Library in 1988. In subsequent years, additional titles were added to the collection. Most notably, periodicals from the Barbara Gittings and Kay Tobin Lahusen Collection were added. While this additional material expanded the holdings of titles already represented in the collection, new titles were also acquired. Most of the periodicals can be requested in the Manuscripts and Archives Division. Titles followed by a call number (e.g., *ZAN-1234) should be requested from the Microforms Division. There are also many LGBT periodicals held by other units of the New York Public Library. Most of these can be found in the online catalog.
