Description
Caricatures on the American Civil War, 1860-1862, including the battles of Ball's Bluff and Boonville, Mo., and a series of Confederate caricatures of the Siege of Richmond. Other subjects include blacks, Secession, slavery and the American eagle. Individuals portrayed include "Beast" Butler, John J. Crittenden, Jefferson Davis, Horace Greeley, "Stonewall" Jackson, Abraham Lincoln, George B. McClellan and the fictional characters John Bull and Uncle Sam.
