Description
Collection consists of manuscripts written in Arabic on paper and vellum ranging from the 7th century to the late 19th century. Items include versions of the Koran and the Bible with commentaries, religious treatises, prayers, and prayer books. Literary writings are poems, proverbs, sayings, traditions, and biographical accounts. Other works concern logic, metaphysics, philosophy, astronomy, astrology, magic, medicine, law, history, and science. Also, grammars and dictionaries, and miscellaneous items such as rings and seals.
