Abstract
The Architecture collection depicts architectural designs and styles, mostly in Harlem, New York, between the late nineteenth century and the 1970s. The collection consists of exterior views of residential buildings and dwellings, and public and other non-residential structures. The collection also includes reproductions of architectural renderings. Noteworthy structures depicted include sections of Strivers' Row, the Roger Morris Apartments at 555 Edgecombe Avenue, and the Haarlem Settlement House. Additional architectural views and designs may be found in the W. Joseph Black Photograph Collection. Images of dwellings and apartment buildings, as well as urban renewal projects, may be found in "Housing"; views of commercial and residential districts found in "Street Scenes"; and exterior views of business establishments found in "Business."
