Abstract
Each of these playing cards is illustrated with a picture of an instrument used in the fields of surveying, navigation, mining, engineering, astronomy, etc. and a description (backs are plain). This set was acquired as part of the William Barclay Parsons collection. Parsons served on the Library's Board of Trustees, but was also chief engineer of the New York City subway system. He collected widely on engineering.
