Caricatures depicting smoking, snuff, tobacco taxation and other tobacco related subjects, and views depicting other subjects where tobacco or smoking is incidentally depicted. Persons depicted include the British royal family, peers, bishops, and parliamentarians & European rulers, Thomas Paine, Edmund Kean, the symbolic character John Bull, and others & issues addressed include taxation, the Emancipation Bill, the French Revolution, Napoleonic wars, Ireland, trade unions, child labor, education, and others including caricatures and cartoons depicting manners and customs, fashion and other social subjects.
