Content: The plates are aquatints, engraved by Hürlimann, Salathé, Martens and others, after daguerreotypes by N.-P. Lerebours, F. Goupil and H. Vernet, and consist of views of landscapes and buildings, primarily in Paris, France, and Italy.
Content: Vol. 2 has half title only.
Content: Plates [39] and [53] of v. 1 were printed directly from the original daguerreotype plates using a process developed by H. Fizeau; cf. Goldschmidt & Naef.
Content: Text by P. de La Garenne, Fr. Goupil, P.G. Joly de Lotbinière, F. Goupil, L. Batissier, G. Deville, J. Janin, E. Jomard, and others.
Content: Consists of [112] leaves of plates (v. 1: [61] leaves; v. 2: [51] leaves), each accompanied by 2-5 p. of descriptive letterpress.
