James Augustus Hessey, English bookseller and printer. In partnership with John Taylor at 93 Fleet Street, Hessey published early work by Keats and owned the London Magazine (1821-5). · To John Taylor, publisher and writer (his business partner) : 2 items -- 1 autograph letter signed : 17 Mar 1818 : (H'ANA 0091) : 1 page (double sheet) : [no place] : relating to the copyright and profits of Leigh Hunt's Story or Rimini; begins, "Mr. Hunt has sent the twenty guineas ..."; With a copied extract, in Hessey's hand, of a letter from Shelley to Hunt relating to the situation, on page 3 of the letter sheet. -- 1 autograph letter signed : 5 Jan [1825] : (MISC 1382a) : 3 pages (double sheet) : [no place] : begins, "When I came home last night I found a letter from S[outhern] which I enclose. I sent your letter this morning enclosed in one from myself of which I send you a copy ..."; along with the copy of Hessey's letter to Henry Southern (MISC 1382b) on a separate single sheet.
