Photographs, many snapshots, of Lawrence Brown and his friends and colleagues, most prominently of Paul Robeson and William Lawrence, but many of other musicians and performers as well.Collection includes stills from the play "Stevedore," snapshots of Brown with friends in various locales, portraits and informal views of friends without Brown, images of Robeson and Brown in concert and portraits of his parents. Many portraits are inscribed to Brown.Some of the individuals identified are: Marian Anderson, Samuel and Hiawatha Coleridge-Taylor, Abbie Mitchell, Turner Layton, John Payne, Clarence Muse, Ira Aldridge, Louia Vaughn Jones, Roland Hayes, Joe Louis, Bill Robinson, Olivia de Havilland, Roger Quilter, Leslie Woodgate and Ethel Gardner Dingle.
