Content: Nicholas Kelley, son of social reformer Florence Kelley, was a New York City lawyer and civic leader. Kelley practiced arbitration and labor law and held several high-profile positions in government and business. He was an official in the U.S. Department of the Treasury (1918-1921), a vice president of the Chrysler Corporation (1937-1957), and chairman of the Alien Enemy Hearing Board in New York City (1941-1946). Kelley served on the boards ofa number of legal, civic and social welfare organizations and educational institutions.
Content: The collection consists of correspondence, case files, writings, diaries, memorabilia and photographs documentingNicholas Kelley's personal and professional life, including his education at Harvard University; legal practice in New York City; government and business employment; engagement in legal, civic and social reform; club memberships; alumni activities; travels; and family life.
