Content: Illustrations: 12 woodcuts, comprising one below the title (Bartsch 4) and 11 full-page cuts (Bartsch 5-15), the latter with monogram A.D.; Bartsch 6, 8-13 were made between 1497 and 1500; Bartsch 5-7, 14-15 are dated 1510, and Bartsch 4 was probably made at the same time.
Content: Large woodcut (Christ as Man of Sorrows) on title page, followed by 11 full-page cuts on rectos of 11 following leaves; the Latin verses, compiled and partly written by Chelidonius, are found in letterpress at the foot of the recto and on the verso of the title page and on the verso of leaves 2-11.
Content: Spencer Collection copy: The order of plates (Bartsch 4-11, 14, 13, 12, 15) is correct in relation to the text and is the same as in the Fairfax Murray copy. NN
Bibliographic history: This work, along with Dürer's Apocalipsis cum figuris and his Epitome in Divae Parthenices Mariae historiam, which he describes in his Netherlands journal as "die grossen Bücher," were originally issued together in 1511, and some copies survive thus; but they are more usually found separately.
