Description
Miniature bust-length portrait, subject facing forward, head turned to his right. He wears a dark green cloak over a large-collared white shirt, a vest with gold trim, and a red jeweled brooch. Signed on the verso: "T. Hargreaves / 1825." Obviously inspired by the 1813 portrait by Thomas Phillips. Within ornate gilt plaster frame with the manufacturer's ticket of "Freeman, carver, gilder & looking glass" of London and Swan Lane, Norwich.
