Abstract

Billy Taylor interviews African American jazz pianist and composer Randy Weston during an undated broadcast. Weston discusses his career as a jazz composer, musician and educator; his work with Thelonious Monk; his influences; his tour throughout Africa with a U.S. cultural delegation (1967), and performing in Africa. At the end of the interview he gives advice to young composers.
