Creation/production credits: Choreography: George Balanchine. Music: Igor Stravinsky. Scenery/costumes: Isamu Noguchi.
Performers: Performed by the New York City Ballet. Cast: Mikhail Baryshnikov (Orpheus), Francisco Moncion (Dark Angel), Kay Mazzo (Eurydice), Deni Lamont (Leader of the Furies), and others.
Funding: Preservation of this video was supported by a grant from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission.

Description
Rehearsal of the ballet from its opening to Eurydice's solo in the second scene. Numerous interruptions and repetitions of sections. Balanchine is seen onstage demonstrating movements to dancers.
