Statement of responsibility: James Watson fecit.
Biographical/historical: Nancy Dawson was a dancer and actress in mid-eighteenth century London. She was perhaps best known for dancing the hornpipe.
Biographical/historical: The British printmaker James Watson was born in Dublin and moved to London in the 1750s. His birth year has not been confirmed, and has been variously conjectured as 1735, 1739, or 1740.
