Interview conducted by Marian Horosko, as host, with Emily Moore [spelled phonetically]; for broadcast on radio station WBAI-FM, New York on its series Dance New York, on March 31 and April 1, 1969. Streaming file (approximately 26 minutes). Marian Horosko, as host, introduces her guest Emily Moore, founder of the bi-monthly newsletter Ethnic News; Moore speaks with Horosko about the origins of Ethnic News; her particular interest in Slavic and Balkan folk dancing; the widespread appeal of Eastern European folk dancing; folk dancing groups in the New York area; the editor Ellen Kenwood and how she has expanded the scope of the newsletter; the wide range of folk music played on the radio; the increasing difficulty of finding authentic folk dancing in its respective country of origin; films showing folk dancing; folk dancing classes and venues for folk dancing in New York; the kinds of advertisements found in the newsletter; some of the reasons Moore and others have such a keen interest in foreign cultures.
