Abstract

Evan Cameron (name from audition; probably Evan William Cameron) interviews Barry Tuckwell, the world's leading horn player, about the intricacies and nuances of playing the French horn steering the latter into details of the old history and evolvement of the instrument. Discussing the music written for the horn and the difficulty of playing it, the host and the musician focus on the particular physical challenge of Schumann's Adagio et allegro that sounds quite simple to laymen. Other topics are of more individual nature and concern Tuckwell's routines, tastes, practices, schedules, and such.
